We’ll learn how to use PS4 controller on PC to play Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. So you got a PS4controller and Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and can’t use your PS4 Controller? Okay

So in this video. I Recorded this video a couple of years ago, and I noticed that there’s a lot of people asking me multiple times about different methods on how to set this up on PC, how to set this up, how to make it work and help you in 2020 on how to actually get your PlayStation 4 controller working on your Windows 10 computer to play either Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 or any other game as if it was an Xbox 360 controller.

How to configure Playstation Controller on PC games

I couldn’t play Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 with a PS4 controller because I went ahead and clear everything just for the tutorial purposes.

You can either use the Xbox 360 emulator, which is the main course on this tutorial; but I’m also going to teach you another way to do it without even using the emulator if you want to go that route

Currently I have my PS4 controller plugged into a USB port using micro USB to USB cable. Please visit x360ce website to download the main files from the source or use the links shared here..

Now the very first step to do is download the Xbox 360 controller Emulator. Choose either 32-bit or 64-bit; Now personally I believe the majority of people use computers in 64-bit. In my case I downloaded the Xbox 360 controller emulator on 64-bit

So I’m gonna go ahead and load that and usually this file is gonna be zipped extract the zipped file, after you have extracted this file you’ll notice that you’ll have Xbox 360 or x360ce which is controller emulator underscore x64 dot exe.

Locate the game folder

So the next step is to select the extracted file and go ahead and copy the exe to move it into the game folder. We’re gonna go ahead and go back to our Steam Library and find out the game that we’re looking for. Just find the game folder directory for that in this case in Steam.

Click on properties; after clicking on properties go to local files and click on browse local files. This will load wherever the game is installed on your computer. Now right from here as you can see we currently have the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 dot exe file.

This is what you’ll be using to run or execute the game. In this case i’m going to right click and paste my xbox 360 emulator file and run it. Now when double clicking on the exe file, you’ll notice that it will load.

Install x360 controller emulator

The first thing asked is the location of the xinput file, which notifies there is no X input dll file. This is the main file that you need to be able to translate whatever configuration from your controller into the desired game, since we don’t have any DLL file for the X input we’re to click on “create” so that it will load a brand new blank Xinput1_3.dll. This is the default file.

The game controller configuration can be downloaded through the internet from the default x360ce game database. This will look for the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 game folder and load the default predetermined game controller button setup for this specific game, then click on finish.

As soon as you do that you will be able to hear a beep which means it detected the PS4 controller and now you can test it out through the emulator. So I’m gonna go ahead and take my Playstation 4 controller and notice all buttons respond to our inputs.

Finally Click on save and close it. Pretty much that’s it!

Test Game with Playstation 4 Game Controller

Now there’s a little trick to this… after you have uploaded and you have installed the Emulator, load the DLL file; You want to test out to see if the game runs correctly.

I’m using the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 dot exe file, which is executable for that game. You can either double click here, or load it from Steam. Now with the game loading, press your PS4 Controller buttons to skip the intro; but nothing is actually happening. The game is not responding and the reason why is because currently the DLL installed is not a compatible one for my computer and game.

Controller doesn’t respond in game

To solve this issue change the DLL file name to the corresponding game. This is trial and error until you find the one which works for you. There’s no specific formula to determine which is a DLL file that works for you.

So you have to go through the list of five different DLL file names to be able to get this to work.

These are the available xinput file names to choose from:

xinput1_4.dll
xinput1_3.dll
xinput1_2.dll
xinput1_1.dll
xinput9_1_0.dll

I already know which is the X input file name that I need to use for my computer to work. Replace the default Xinput1_3.DLL by right clicking and choosing “rename”. My corresponding file is xinput9_1_0.dll then go ahead and run the Naruto game one more time.

This time the x360ce emulator beeps when the game is loaded and the controller is detected. So now
