Can you play AION 2 on your TV with just a Fire TV Stick? I tested it with an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, Moonlight, Apollo and my custom Steam Input controller layout, all over Wi-Fi.
Instead of buying another gaming system or moving my PC to the living room, I wanted to see if I could enjoy AION 2 on the big screen using hardware I already owned.
This article walks through the setup, the controller problem I ran into, and what to expect. It follows my video on the same topic.

If you’d rather watch than read, here’s the complete walkthrough on YouTube.
A Fire TV Stick is cheap, small and already plugged into a lot of TVs. With Moonlight on the stick and Apollo on my gaming PC, the game still runs on my PC, and the TV just shows the stream and takes my controller input.
The result in my test: AION 2 running on my TV at 1080p, with controller support and a few limitations worth knowing about.
The setup uses two pieces:
I connect Moonlight on the Fire TV Stick to Apollo on my PC and pair them. If you’re new to this, my Apollo vs Sunshine article explains what each piece does.
For my TV at home I stream at 7 Mbps. If your picture looks blocky in motion and the stream is smooth, try raising it. If you see stutter, lower it.
In the video I pair a PS5 DualSense over Bluetooth with the Fire TV Stick 4K. I also use an Xbox Wireless Controller and a Luna Controller with the stick, so you have options if you don’t own a DualSense.
I launch AION 2 through Steam from the Fire TV Stick. I ran into an unexpected controller problem here: Steam was using the wrong input layout. Switching to my custom Eddy04 configuration fixed it.
You can find my layout in Steam’s community controller layouts for AION 2. Search for Eddy04. My PS5 controller setup article covers Steam Input and button mapping in more detail.
Everything in my test ran over Wi-Fi. At 1080p the game looked good on the TV. The video shows the gameplay so you can judge the picture and response for yourself.
I also show how I navigate quests and use auto-move with a controller, and the limitations of playing AION 2 this way. Those are worth watching before you try it, so you know what to expect.
If you already own a Fire TV Stick and a gaming PC that runs AION 2, it’s an easy way to play on the big screen without buying anything else. My full verdict is at the end of the video.
